The brief: the design ambition was to build a house that would recess into the natural environment.
Luxury summer house – Sweden
The world-renowned Swedish architect Thomas Sandell and landscape architect Johan Paju designed this magical house. The interior is by MKID for a private client. The summerhouse is situated on the island of Gotland, one of Sweden’s most popular summer holiday spots.
The interior uses a pale palette of white painted walls, white washed pine floor, concrete fireplace and limestone. The amount of furniture is kept to a minimum with some choice pieces to sit quietly in this gem of a building.
